ICOACHKIDS was proud to contribute to a landmark initiative in Nicaragua in collaboration with the FIBA Foundation, helping train the first-ever cohort of Latin American and Caribbean Basketball for Good Coach Developers and Multipliers.
The four-day immersive programme brought together delegates from across the region to take part in a reality-based learning experience focused on using basketball as a tool for positive social impact. The training was delivered by a team including Sergio Lara-Bercial Guillermo Calvo, Paulina Fritz and Theren Bullock Jr, who worked closely with participants throughout the week.
The programme culminated in an inspiring Basketball for Good jamboree, where the newly trained cohort delivered engaging basketball activities for 60 Nicaraguan children, creating a fun and meaningful sporting experience for all involved.
Following the programme, the participants will return to their home countries to train more coaches, expanding the reach and impact of the initiative across the region. By developing coach developers and multipliers, the programme aims to create a sustainable network of leaders committed to using basketball for positive change.
ICOACHKIDS was inspired by the passion, commitment and leadership shown by the cohort and looks forward to seeing the continued impact of their work across Latin America and the Caribbean.
