The 9th International ICOACHKIDS Conference was held at MCAST, Malta on Wednesday 7th May 2025.
The success of the event was illustrated by a range of discussions and practical demonstrations around creating youth sport environments that PUT KIDS FIRST. Some of the key messages included:
- Elevating the voice of the child.
- Developing the young person's identity in and through sport.
- Creating safe and inclusive environments for girls to start and stay in sport.
We would like to thank our expert speakers Eva Gazova and Lorna Callus from Special Olympics, Madeleine De Martino of the Malta Basketball Association / FIBA, Rosalie Borg from UEFA Playmakers, and Ruth Brazier and Megan Hill from Leeds Beckett University for their insights.
We are also grateful for our hosts MCAST, including Principal and CEO, Stephen Vella for welcoming us to their beautiful country... The campus, hosptality, views and ice cream were all superb.
This conference was also the final multiplier event for our most recent Erasmus+ Project: ICOACHGIRLS. So a special thanks goes to the ICOACHGIRLS Partners International Council for Coaching Excellence, Sport Ireland, FIBA, Lithuanian Sports University, Special Olympics, NOC*NSF and the Hungarian Coaches Association.
Their work has helped activate over 1,200 girls and over 300 female coaches across Europe in the last year!
Stay tuned for news about the 10th ICOACHKIDS Conference which will take place in 2026.
