ICOACHKIDS Empowers African Mini Basketball Coaches
Posted on 29th August 2024
ICOACHKIDS is proud to have participated in the 2024 African Mini Basketball Forum in Antananarivo, Madagascar, from July 15 to 18. As part of our ongoing mission to help kids get the most out of sport and improve coach education, one of our Mini Basketball experts was honored to contribute to this significant event, aimed at equipping mini basketball coaches across Africa with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
The convention, organized by the FIBA Regional Office in Africa and the Malagasy Basketball Federation, brought together 20 delegates from 16 African countries, 50 local coaches, and 400 children for four days of dynamic learning and practical application. Our expert played a key role in delivering practical and theoretical sessions that focused on creating fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate activities for children. The ICOACHKIDS Pledge and its 10 golden principles were a central part of this process.
ICOACHKIDS’ involvement in this event highlights our commitment to grassroots coaching, ensuring that coaches at every level have access to the resources and support they need, while also reinforcing our belief in the power of sport to instill valuable life skills in young athletes. Through our global platform, we continue to provide educational materials and foster a community where youth sport coaches can share and learn from one another.
We look forward to further collaborations with FIBA and other partners to continue promoting positive coaching practices worldwide, ultimately helping more kids enjoy and benefit from the transformative power of sport.
